Lindsay Hannigan, LCSW

Lindsay obtained her clinical license in social work in 2003 and has spent the last 20 years working with children and families in a school setting. Her practice as a school social worker provides a complimentary background when working with children, adolescents, and young adults in an outpatient setting.  Her goal is to create a therapeutic environment where individuals feel safe to explore and better understand their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together with Lindsay, clients identify personal goals, learn coping strategies, and build confidence while navigating life challenges.

Melissa earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago, and her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. She has worked as a Mental Health Specialist in a school setting for the last 16 years and has also provided individual therapy for families and adults in a counseling setting.  She uses a mix of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness techniques in order to help her clients amplify their own voices and develop a range of healthy coping strategies.  Her experience in school settings has informed her understanding of school refusal behaviors and other school-related stressors. Additional areas of focus include anxiety, depression, grief and loss, changing family dynamics, parenting challenges and issues surrounding identity.
